New flights booked

Because our flights were cancelled, we had to book new flights. Ralf and I will now meet in Dubai, have a night there, and fly on the next day with a stop-over in Bahrain to Kathmandu. Fitness training

Today was my first attempt to start the fitness program again. I started to do a short round, but then I decided to run from Dusseldorf to Neuss to friends. In the end I ran 12,5 km through the city in 90 minutes. I had to stop several times to find the best way. Not the best time, but I am satisfied.

2nd day of shopping

At August, 10th, I bought the rest of the equipment. 1x goretex rain-jacket (Strech Infinity Jacket Men, black) = 325 € 1x trekking-boots (Yukon marone, size 10) = 160 € 1x shoe waterproofing (SNO Seal, 100 gr) = 7 € 3x socks (TK1, anthrazit, brown, blue, 39-41) = 54 € 1x slippers (Cosyshoes, Anthrazit, 43-44) = 24 € Now I just need some gloves and a down feather jacket.

1st day of shopping

My last training day was the 20.06.2009. In the meantime I ran 2 or 3 times but I didn't count it. I need to work more regular on my fitness. I will defitively start this week in Germany again. We will stay here until 16.08. Enough time to make progress. Today I bought a lot of trekking stuff for the big trip. To give you an idea here is a list: 1x sleeping bag (Classic Dragon 750 regular smokeblue) = 250 € 1x rucksack (Tight Evo-L deep red, 30 liter) = 90 € 2x underpants (Boxer Men CC Falke, Black) = 50 € 1x leggins (Thermo-Pro-Lite, Leggins, lang, schwarz) = 60 € 1x rain trousers (Full zip precip pant, black) = 90 € 1x trekking trousers (Pallisade pant men, coffee bean) = 110 € 2x T-Shirt (Atlas SS Men 150, black, blue) = 100 € 1x long arm shirt (Mako men 190, graphite/ash) = 90 € 1x sweater (Thermo-pro Rollkragen mit RV, schwarz) = 100 € 1x cardigan (Aconcagua jacket men, black) = 140 € 1x cap (Thermo Pro cap, schwarz) = 22 € 1x headlamp (Tikka II XP, graphite, 1 Watt LED) = 50 € 1x sterilization tablets (Micropur Forte MF 1T, für je 1 liter Wasser, 100 Tabl.) = 17 € In total: 1.170 € And I still need a lot of things, especially trekking boots, socks, duffle bag, rain jacket, gloves, medicin and much more. I will buy the rest next week. The clothes are very good and very tight. This is important for the low temperatures. When I am wearing it I am looking like spider man :)

Restart

Since one month I didn't work on my fitness program and I feel not good because of it. Next week I will fly to Mallorca and I will have the time to work on it harder. But I also want to start here in Istanbul. I think tomorrow I will try to find a place to run. It is just not so easy to find a flat course which I can run. The area where we are living is very hilly and this is not good for my knees.

Hello from Turkey

In the last days I couldn't write my blog because we moved from Dubai to Turkey. And on top of this I felt a bit sick. Now we arrived in Istanbul and tomorrow our furniture (from Germany) will be delivered to the house. We are very happy. Today I looked in our new postbox at our house. And what was the first letter which we received in Istanbul ever? The documents about my Himalaya-trip from our German travel agency. What a nice surprise. :)
